The Billiken Family Network — of which you are automatically a member when your student enrolls at SLU — will keep you up to date about events and issues that may impact your student's experience at Saint Louis University. Together, we’ll support them from the first day to graduation day.

The Billiken Family Network’s mission is to strengthen the connection between Billiken Families and the University through meaningful engagement, communication and regional connections, all toward a higher purpose and a greater good.

Goals of the BFN

  • To enhance communication between the University and families of SLU students
  • To develop a community and be a resource for the University
  • To share input and support student initiatives
  • To assist the SLU administration in identifying and encouraging parents, families and others to support the mission of the University
  • And most importantly -- to have fun along the way!

Ways to Volunteer

If you are a Billiken guardian or family member interested in teaming up with other campus partners in programming efforts that have a real impact on your student's life on campus, BFN offers many opportunities for you to get involved and support SLU's mission. Benefits of working with BFN include volunteering your time networking with other families, representing BFN in student support initiatives, participating in fundraising efforts and sharing your talents at career services events. Whether you live near the SLU campus or in another state, your dedication to the University is always welcome!

If you are not ready to volunteer your time, you can still receive regular emailed newsletter updates about events and issues that may impact your student’s experience, including upcoming deadlines and important dates.

You’ll also have the chance to connect with other Billiken Family Network members at Homecoming and Family Weekend, Fall Welcome events, Family Trivia Night and the Family Basketball Game, to name a few.

Regional Family Networks

Regional Family Networks of the Billiken Family Network are newly created groups that are active in more than a dozen cities in the United States, facilitating connections among families. These groups coordinate a range of activities, from Billiken basketball watch parties to regional recruitment events, designed to nurture strong bonds between families and the University. The formation of these networks is contingent on interest and participation.

Below are the Regional Family Network leaders by region. They are ready to meet and fellowship with you.

Northeast Region

The Northeast region includes Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Maryland, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, New York, Pennsylvania, Rhode Island, Vermont and Washington D.C.

Great Lakes Region

The Great Lakes region includes Indiana, Michigan, Ohio and Wisconsin.

Gateway Region

The Gateway region includes central and southern Illinois and Missouri.

Windy City Region

The Windy City region includes the Chicagoland area

Southern Region

The Southern region includes Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Louisiana, Mississippi, South Carolina and Texas.

Cumberland Region

The Cumberland region includes Kentucky, Tennessee, North Carolina and West Virginia.

Great Plains Region

The Great Plains region includes Iowa, Kansas, Nebraska, North Dakota, Oklahoma, South Dakota and Minnesota.

Pacific Crest Region

The Pacific Crest region includes Alaska, Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana , Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming.
